Message From The President

Welcome to EIBCS! El-Elyon Int’l Bible College & Seminary (EIBCS) is a theological institution that offers a wide range of courses with contemporary flavors from undergraduate to post-graduate levels. These programs of study are reflective of the ministry ideals of the 21st century.
Theological training in this institution increases the knowledge of God and His word in the lives of the students, and develops their ability to share that knowledge with people around them. The faculty at EIBCS brings together many different gifts, including academic ability and pastoral experiences. Their wholehearted commitment makes our learning community a distinctive place to be.
EIBCS is dedicated to producing men and women who are academically sound and spiritually astute. This is the reason all courses at EIBCS are taught by seasoned ministers of the Gospel, and academically qualified Christians, who participate in a vital and real-life ministry; bringing fresh insights and application to the truth that has stood the test of time.
The focal point of EIBCS is to Biblically and theologically educate apostles, prophets, Evangelists, pastors, teachers, missionaries and individuals like you. Our programs of study facilitate this development through innovative educational design that guides you to assess and rethink of your ministry, while you pursue your studies. This way, everything you will learn becomes relevant immediately.
Thank you for registering your interest in EIBCS and our well-designed Degree offerings. We look forward to serving and walking with you in the educational journey you are about to embark with us.
Shallom!

Our History

El-Elyon Int’l Bible College & Seminary (EIBCS) emerged from a divine directive from God to prepare individuals for extraordinary kingdom endeavours. The school’s vision was conceived through the spiritual insight of Rev. Prof. Silas Danjuma John. He is an architect educated at Ahmadu Bello University who transitioned into a theologian, Spirituotherapist and educator. His mission is to cultivate authentic and firmly established ministers of the gospel through a ministry of education and collaboration with local church.

The divine concepts that evolved into El-Elyon Int’l Bible College & Seminary had it beginning on April 18, 2014 with about thirteen (13) students. The Seminary started at Karu; a border-city between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital of Nigeria (Abuja).

At inception, EIBCS offered programs of study at the Diploma level only. Bachelor’s Degree programs were introduced in 2015. In 2016, Master’s Degree programs were introduced. Doctoral Degree programs were introduced in 2017.

EIBCS was incorporated in Abuja (FCT) with a board of three and approved to grant degrees in religious studies by the Governing Council. The name of the Seminary was registered with the Nigerian Government in 2017.

As EIBCS grew numerically and in academic strength, the Governing Council made the decision to move toward affiliation and partnership with Universities and Christian Educational Bodies. As it stands today, EIBCS is affiliated with Bethel Christian University, USA. EIBCS is also a registered member of National Association of Christian Religious Educators of Nigeria. And accredited by the CHRISTIAN THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION NETWORK LTD, to run Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree programs

Doctrinal Statements

These are brief statements to which all faculty and staff affirm.
a) Scripture: The verbal plenary inspiration and divine inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments in the original manuscripts.
b) Trinity: We believe that there is one living and true GOD; eternally existing in three persons (Father, Son & the Holy Spirit), and are equal in divine perfection.
c) Creation: We believe that in the past, God spoke and the heavens, earth and all therein came into being. We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God. But that that in Adam’s sin, the entire human race fail and inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God.
d) God the Father: We believe in God the Father; the infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.
e) Person of Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus Christ as God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven and personal and visible return to the earth.
f) The Holy Spirit: We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son, to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.
g) Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God; that in grace, He bestows eternal life to all who repent.
h) Church: We believe in the universal Church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head, and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local Church; consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith.
i) The Sacraments: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local Church – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
j) The Last Things: We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth, and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in bodily resurrection of the dead; righteous to everlasting blessedness, and the wicked to everlasting damnation.

Philosophy of Education

EIBCS’ philosophy of Education is centered on the authentic and infallible word of God. We work with an integrative model of theological education that is based upon sound Biblical and theological understanding of the word of God as a goal for spiritual formation and development of ministry skills. Our training philosophy entails integrating theory with practical, which is vocationally proficient. We achieve this through:
a) Integrated learning approach of academics and praxis, in order to facilitate holistic training of ministers and all believers,
b) Provision of learning opportunities for our students beyond the classroom; through mentoring opportunities.
c) Consistently engaging our students to be contextually astute and faithful to the Biblical worldview.

Structure of the Seminary

EIBCS is a non-denominational and an independent Bible College & Seminary designed to have a strong theological base in her educational platforms without affiliating with any specific denomination. The goal is to offer a wider appeal to students interested in Biblical and theological studies and degrees without being limited with specific denominational theologies.

The president appoints responsible Christian Ministers and Personalities to the EIBCS’ Governing Board, who have delegated authority to run the Seminary affairs. The provost has the ultimate responsibility under the Governing Council for the running of the Seminary. The Management staff consists of the Provost, Deputy Provost, Registrar, Academic Dean, Bursar, Auditor, Chaplain and Director of Library Services.

The Management meets to discuss recommendations from all the constituted committees of the Seminary, and also other vital issues affecting the Seminary. Complex issues and major decisions from the management staff are sent as recommendations to the Governing Council for final approval.
